App2truedipG: apparent to true dip restoration with graphics software

Purpose

1. To restore strike and dip of planar structures measured as two apparent dips along two azimuths. Designed to process core structural measurements made on Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) legs, but can be used in any situation where two apparent dips are available.
2. To displays statistics (histograms and roses) of the results.
3. To plot the restored structure on a core section plot like that of ODP Visual Core Description templates (VCD); this allows to compare the restored measurements with the visual description sketch.

A simpler version, App2truedip, without graphics is also available.

Documentation

A user's manual contains a pdf document and associated files. To keep its links active, it is recommended to preserve its folder structure after downloading. It is bundled with the most recent applications. Chapter 2 is designed to help prepare input files successfully.
